And DEKKADANCERS are once again performing for a good cause. This time, we’ve decided to pay tribute to MSF with our iconic production, A.I., which we are bringing to the large stage of Jatka78 for the very first time. Why the connection between artificial intelligence and a humanitarian organization? Because despite the power of AI trends, we still believe in the irreplaceable humanity that the doctors and nurses of MSF have in abundance!
The three robots from the A.I. show know this all too well. As portrayed by dancers Štěpán, Ondřej, and Viktor, they are not the cold, lethal monsters you might expect. DEKKADANCERS work with the idea of a perfect being capable of living, loving, and thinking better than any human. But is that even possible?
This dance performance with elements of drama is accompanied by audio recordings featuring voices you’ll recognize, such as Pavla Beretová, Igor Orozovič, or Jiří Lábus. Štěpán Pechar was even nominated for the Thalia Award for his role.
Turn on. Turn off.
Turn on, make mistakes, save, turn off.
Turn on, develop, solve, make mistakes, save, turn off.
Turn on. Develop. Address people connections. Humanity is defined by the question of love; People kill, they hate, they want to love.
Define options; live, love, think, make mistakes, fail. Be better than human existence. Save. Integrate. Go beyond. Live.
Please note that strobe and smoke effects are used in the performance.
Who are Doctors Without Borders?
For nearly 50 years, they have provided medical and humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable: people affected by war, natural disasters, or epidemics. Every year, they treat, vaccinate, or perform surgery on millions of people worldwide. They also share their stories and draw attention to the crises they work to alleviate. Operating in more than 70 countries, the backbone of the organization is its local staff, who make up roughly 90% of the mission team. Thanks to them, the aid remains sustainable even after the international teams leave. Funded primarily by private donors rather than states or international institutions, MSF is able to uphold its pillars of independence, impartiality, and neutrality.
